Here’s a video I compiled today of Ripley from yesterday at 5:30pm and 11:30pm:
Progress! I will post video from today around tomorrow morning, maybe early afternoon.
I can tell you that today she has made biscuits on me (that means she kneaded my belly like dough with BOTH paws) and purred at the same time. She got up on me and laid down on my belly. She jumped up on the coffee table with no problem. Once up there she took a stumble, but stayed on the table then sat down. When she got bored of the table she jumped to the couch with just a tiny stumble. She slept next to me with her head in my lap for the first time since she came home and was still drugged. She was able to get up on the arm of the couch all by herself AND TURN AROUND with just a little wobble here and there. She kissed Twitterbean when they had their noses together (no hissing, which is totally out of character). She has been less scared of sounds and noises, and when she does get surprised by them it doesn’t knock her off balance. She responded to my singing and whistling today, which she hasn’t the last few days. Grand finale: She took the pill gun like a champ! … and then I found her prednisone on the coffee table 10 minutes later.
So I had to find her and pillgun her again for her second pill, which she took like a champ. That’s my girl.
<3
I have no idea what she’ll be like without the meds, but I am VERY happy with her progress on them. She’s my baby girl again. And she just jumped on my lap and gave me kisses. YAAAAY!!!!!!
Yay!! I am so happy to hear that there is positive progress! Go Ripley!!!
LOL, I love how you described making biscuits. It drives me nuts when our cats do it to me, but I knew exactly what you were talking about!
Glad she’s doing better.
Yay!!! I am so happy and relieved!!!
Go Ripley!! Gramma loves you!
Yay! It’s good to hear Ripley is improving and giving her mama some love.
So is my cat the only “I hate my owner” cat out there? All ours does is sleep in the cabinet under the kitchen sink and stand at his food bowl and cry because “omgosh! There are SIX pieces of food gone from this bowl – you must refill it!!”
So glad that Ripley is doing better! Also, your babies are your life so it’s only natural that you blog about this and do your facebook status updates and all that. Besides, *we* are all interested in hearing how she’s doing
YAY!!!
SO SO SO glad to see she’s doing better!
I know this is probably a dumb question, but have they really checked out her ears? My ex-MIL had a cat who had a grub in his ear. It was removed and then he had permanent discombobulation and always sat with his head cocked to the side and walked a little drunkish. (He was a country cat. Didn’t stop him from mousing or anything. But his equilibrium was all messed up.) It’s just a thought.
Looks like Rips is making some great progress. How is she right before the meds? Does she get really wobbly again?
The lady doc checked her ears in the exam room and in the back with an orthoscope. Neither showed any visible issues but we’re treating it as if she has one.
She is wobbly in the morning when I get up to feed them treat, although this morning she didn’t seem as wobbly, so that’s progress! I didn’t take video of this morning, will try for tomorrow.
Hi Ripley! Hope you are feeling much better today. Looking good!
