Dawg and I saw this video on our local news several nights ago. When we saw it our news channel gave us no hint of how it would end. I believe this is what led us to bawl our eyes out harder than you will when you watch this:
(If you don’t cry then you are having pre-PMS or you are a robot.)
I had meant to look for a clip of it and post it, but I’m very forgetful of tasks I don’t write down, although the story itself stayed with me and I thought of it many times in the days after seeing it. Yesterday Tense reminded me of this clip in a tweet so I had to share.
Also, Hilly got a new kitty after her dear, beloved FC passed due to complications from feline cancer. Meet Velma Jinkies:
This stranger named Spider was so happy about the news that he ran out and got this tattoo! :
Ok, not really, but that sounded fun. And now I totally wanna get a few geek tattoos, as well as one that says:

Oh, and Dawg and I are going to see the Gotham Girls in their championship match on Friday, November 21 at Hunter College. I AM SO PSYCHED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Last but not least, RenYC is this coming Saturday at 5pm at Houndstooth Pub in Manhattan. If you want to go and haven’t told me already please let me know. I will be sending an email to all who want to go, but if I don’t know you’re going then you won’t be on the email. And don’t you want an email from me? Of course you do!

Awwww thanks for posting the picture of Jinkies and for all of the love, Poppy!
(p.s. – I like this template)
I didn’t cry, but being a robot is a-okay for me. I did, however, laugh when the dog passionately licked the baffled baby’s face.
Velma was always the attractive one on the Scooby Doo cast.
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww! I love that dog story!
Jinkies is soooo freaking cute!
Oh no… not the doggie story… *SNIFF* *SNIFF*…
I read about that dog story before, so I was prepared for it. Sniff sniff.
OK…maybe not.
ok, I’m a little slow and so I’m very much confused… was the dog with them when they crashed? So then if so.. the family just left her there? Or did they crash and then the dog went searaching for them? I hope it’s the latter, that makes for a much nicer story…
I’m so glad we saw this on our local channel so I know the answers:
The entire family, including the dog, was in the accident. The dog was ejected during the crash when the SUV flipped on its head, and landed out of vision from the crash site. All humans were taken to the hospital. When the dog came around he realized his whole family was gone so he started collecting their personal belongings that were ejected during the crash. Someone saw the dog and he was brought to a shelter. The dog didn’t act like a stray so the shelter lady returned to the place where the dog had been found, and coincidentally remembered that she had been stuck in bad traffic due to an accident near the time the dog was brought to the shelter. She found the personal items the dog had gathered, contacted authorities to inquire, and found out the dog belonged to them. They were hospitalized, and are now temporarily rehabilitating in a home that doesn’t accept dogs, but the dog and family did get to reunite for a visit. When they are fully healed humans and dog will be reunited as a family.
Crying…
Oh my that is truly amazing. I’m crying now though, but honestly it made me miss my doggies more than anything
especially Jake, since Jake looked like Ella (he was a roti Shepard mix)

Hilly’s new cat is so cute. And I love the name, too. And nice link to a tattoo of Velma.
Im crying too, but it’s not because of the story. It’s because I can’t be there for RenYC!
