I just spent a small fortune on my feet, but they get me where I’m going so they kinda deserve it.

Yaaaaaaaah, that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

I’m on this cute boot kick and am not willing to buy a boot that says “I’m gonna fuck you up if you come near me, buddy.” That’s what my face is for, my face conveys that message quite nicely. Oh, and so does my walk. I seriously scare the shit out of a lot of people I’m walking behind with my loud, fast, hard, mean walk.

So, after hours and hours of searching, after much blog friend feedback, I finally bought BOOTS!

Let me first qualify: I did not buy from LL Bean because they remind me of my former life and I also didn’t think Tevas had the grip around my ankle I needed. I WANTED to buy from JC Penney Outlet because, ZOMGWTFBBQ they had some awesomely adorable boots and FANTASTIC prices, but the boots were either not in my size or not in the color I preferred or the heel would have been too hard on my back. Thank you, though, Glenda and Misses M, for your suggestions. You did help me further realize what I *do* want.

Sans adieu plus, here are the boots I did buy…

From Piperlime I purchased:

Nine West Markeson
Nine West Markeson
I will probably only wear these boots on specialer occasions because the heel is a little extreme, but I adore the simplicity of them. They are gorgeous but without frills. And a doubled-over ankle fabric makes me happy.

Hush Puppies Cranborne

This item is now out of stock at Piperlime, so either I bought the last existing pair in my size or I’ll be receiving a notice that I can’t get what I want. ;) Either way, these boots are again simple and cute and the price point was awesome: $99 down to $60.

From Endless.com:

Nine West Women’s Cheech Ankle Boot (in black, no longer listed)
Nine West Cheech Ankle Boot in White
I can’t even find a photo in black today, even though I only just bought the boots Saturday! Geesh! I think I keep buying the last of everything. That’s hilarious to me. This boot is suede, has a tiny heel, has proper ankle support, and I just love the cut.

From Zappos.com:

Børn Kale in Bark Leather

Børn Kale - the acorn sole!
Not only are these mid-calf boots western-adorable, THEY HAVE ACORNS ON THE BOTTOM. Who is not aware of my affinity for all things squirrel? Well, you are now. I am part squirrel, I love them like family, so I have to have these boots!!!!!!!

Dr. Martens Vanna in Black Nappa
Dr. Martens Vanna - Black Nappa
Classic boots that will be comfortable because Sybil and Nat said so. ;) I now wish I owned a trench coat to go with these. Perhaps I will go shopping for one with my next paycheck. (Ok, no.)

And, last but not least, and certainly not last forever, from Shoes.com:

Privo Women’s Stretch in Cafe Brown
Privo Women's Stretch in Cafe Brown
Yah, these are totally digging on some sort of bondage vibe. It’s really about the idea that these will hug my ankle. And they’re just fucking adorable. C’mon. I told you, I’m all about the cute boot! I cannot help myself…

Rampage Women’s Murphy in Black

These ones make me feel sexy and I’m not even wearing them. That’s saying something. That’s saying, “Poppy, you need to own these boots.” So now I do, they’re just not here yet. w00t!

BTW, there are two awesome promo codes active at shoes.com right now. Use BFF09 to get 20% off, then SPRING10 to get another $10 off. Yes, I was able to use both codes on one order. Good luck!

And so concludes my boot shopping. Thank you sooooo much to Robin, Sybil, Britt, Nat, and ToB for the suggestions I did use. I spent less than a rent check, but more than I should have. These boots should last a long time now, though, so I am veeeery happy. I hope this inspires you to buy something cute for yourself and to feel absolutely no guilt about it because you deserve it.

  1. OMG you makea me drool today with the boots.
    Awesome!
I must have those Rampage ones – and the Born ones… and the Nine West ones….
    Shit.
    Yay, Poppy!

  2. I am totally getting a Double Whopper Value Meal with Cheese.

And I’m not gonna feel guilty about it.

    At all.

    Really.

    No guilt here!

    Honestly.

    Really!

  3. I am usually not a fan of the ankle-length boots, but those brown ones are so cute!

I’m also in the market for some new tall black boots, and those Doc Martens are an excellent contender.

  4. I would so wear the acorm boots and kick up my heels often just so’s the acorms could be seen.

But dayum, when did boots get so ‘spensive? Yikes.

  5. Your welcome!

I have issue with boots around my calves too… however for the Rampages I’d suffed.
    (I adore 9West shoes… great simple footwear.)

  6. I am SO jealous. I can’t even pick a favorite pair because they’re all so cute!

  7. Whoa, good choices. Sounds like you could moonlight as a boot suggester.

What would you suggest for a late 30s bearded father of two who likes to read LOLcats in the moonlight?

  8. A pair of boots for each day of the week!

    Is that so wrong?

    Too few pairs, you’re right…

  9. Weird…I was just about to say I just fell in love with you a little more after reading this post and as the comments page was loading, I click on the comments on your guest post at Whall’s and see he stole my words already (phew, that was a long sentence!). But I really DID fall in love with you a little more after reading this. LOVE. THOSE. BOOTS.

  10. Ya gotta take care of your feet. Try a foot bath on a Sunday afternoon, sipping a glass of Malbec. What’s the first thing that hits the ground when you roll out of bed? (Hopefully, that is.)
