I don’t mean to alarm you, but…

Did you ever notice that when you look up any random symptom you might have you inevitably stumble across one source that says you’re dying?

I have a burnt taste in my throat, and my ears feel sore. I think I just have a cold that forgets to peak but the internet has gone all alarmist on me.

I’m just going to gargle some vodka or something and see how that goes.

Right as rain by Wednesday, I bet.

  1. I totally would have swallowed the vodka. With some OJ. It may not have cured me… but at least my toesies would have been tingly.

I may need to do that tonight. My throat is scratchier than normal this morning.

    Just sayin’.

  2. I have the opposite problem actually. I have a symtom and am convinced I’m dying then go to webmd and they tell me something like “oh you have a hang nail” or some stupid shit…. pfft

  3. The nast-taste in your mouth and hurty ears sounds like it could be strep or a sinus infection. ::ducks::

That said, vodka IS a great disinfectant and OJ is full of antioxidants so a screwdriver or two might be worth a try. At the very least you won’t care if your throat hurts.

  4. I stopped looking up stuff online, as it would always say I had leprosy.

Plus it’s getting really hard to type with only seven fingers.

  5. After 4 1/2 weeks of being sick, I’m finally dragging my rear end to the doctor (and the rest of me too, I guess.)

I figure if it’s hung in there this long, it’s bronchitis…or typhoid.

Vodka may not cure it, but it’ll make me overlook this cough for awhile. Pass the bottle, tootsie pop!

  6. Have someone pee in your ear.

I hear that helps with an earache.

Of course, I’m stoned off my ass on massive doses of Nyquil, pain killers, and Benadryl.

So I could be remembering something TOTALLY inappropriate from my past.

    G’nite.

  7. Ever since that head Sopranos guy had a stroke right after he imagined smelling burnt hair, I’ve been totally freaking out at that smell.
