This morning my shower tried to break my toe. I was innocently trying to grab the soap out of my ceramic soap dish when it went crashing down to the shower floor, whacking me square on my right pinkie toe. I bent down to pick up the dish and the two fragments that had broken off of it and noticed that there was already a bruise on that toe. Awesome.
I finished up my business in the shower. Ya know, making big deals, selling little businesses for huge profits, then I got out of the shower and looked at my toe again. This time it was bruised at the impact point, completely puffy and red on the whole toe, and it was hanging limply away from my other toes. I wiggled it to see what would happen and it moved. I bent down to touch it and… no excruciating pain.
After I finished my morning routine I popped two Tylenol Arthritis (1300 mg Acetaminophen is about what my body needs for pain), hopped in the car, and made my morning phone call to Dawg, mentioning that I had tried my best to break my toe in the shower but didn’t quite succeed, or at least I didn’t think I did because I’d never broken anything but I was pretty sure that if I had I’d be in a lot more pain than I was (“it hurts when I touch it!” “so don’t touch it…”). While I was telling him about this I noticed my foot start throbbing. Well, that’s no good. I’m kinda in the middle of driving a several thousand pound vehicle. But I went on.
When I got out of the car in the parking lot at work I was definitely hobbling. One of the managers happened to be walking by and asked me if I’d hurt my knee. heh. Hi, just call me Gimpy. It’s ok, it’s incredibly un-PC, but it’s just so adorable.
The best you can do is tape it to the toe next to it… it helps stabilize it. I have done that too… it hurts
I’m sorry, but I have to agree. A gimpy Poppy is terribly adorable.

As someone who recently put a gash in her wrist (that nearly required stitches) while cleaning her bathroom, I am in no position to judge the ridiculousness of that injury. Hope it feels better soon, though!
