Poppy is sad you can’t read this for her.

That doesn’t look like much, does it?

Well, it’s 1310 pages of technical information I need to read before taking my GCIH exam. Technically I have 4 months to take it, but I happen to need to take it asap. My mom even chewed me out about taking it when I called her last night, but I just received the email late Friday that my test was ready for me to take, because it takes SANS 7-10 business days to make the test available. Sooooo, yah. I’m up to page 137 of book 1 of 6 books — 10% done! It really shouldn’t take that long if I stick some earbuds in my ears a few nights instead of goofing off. Heh. Discipline is not my bestest quality.

  1. Dave2 is sad that he probably wouldn’t understand it, even if he were to volunteer to help read it. :-)

  2. You can do it! I know you can! :D

But wow, that’s a lot of reading! But yeah, you can do it!

  3. My eyes would cross, my hair would fall out & I’d be in a fetal position in the corner…so I guess I won’t offer to help??

    You can do it Poppy!!

    GO YANKEES!!

  4. As much as I hate ‘required reading’, I am just nerdy enough that looks like something I might read for fun.

  5. Dave2, I think you’d be surprised by how much you would understand. Know what espionage is? It’s in there.

Yoshi, thanks for the pep talk! I know I can, had faaaaaaar more reading to do to take the GSEC certification, but it’s just a difficult time for me to have so much reading to do.

Geek, good luck! Four tests is just mean. The GCIH used to be two, but now it’s just one 4-hour test.

Tug, I don’t like the Yankees, I just like the Dawg who gave me that hat and ironically doesn’t like the Yankees either. But, :shh: , don’t tell anyone. :winks:

Pat, that is very cool. The material is super easy stuff so I’m surprised more handlers don’t go for the cert.

    Hello, that’s quite alright. :smiles:

Mr. Fist, *giggle* yah, it’s super interesting stuff in that set of books. A lot of it is review if you already have your GSEC, but there’s some really fun stuff that makes me totally geek out.

  6. Girl, I feel your pain. I used to have to do that all the time when I worked at Tivoli. My brain just doesn’t function as quickly as it did in my 20′s. I wish it did.

    Good luck to you girl!

  7. That’s a pile of parchment. Looks like you need to lock yourself away somewhere quiet for a few days.

  8. Wow, I can’t believe what I just read.. A girl taking the GCIH exam? Do you want to marry me? :)

Darn, I forgot, I’m already married :) Good luck! hehe

  9. I look like a trucker in that photo. HAWT POPPY!

Maman, what, exactly, do you want there to be pictures of?

Fab, it’s my Dawg hat, not my Yankees hat. Fucking Derek Jeter. FUCKING JOHNNY DAMON. FUCKING ROGER CLEMENS!!!!!~!!!~!~!!@!!

    Abs, thank you!

Dan, agreed. If only my employer would do the right thing and let me lock myself up at work, since I’m getting this cert for work.

Shelli, yes, they’re back for a minute. I intend to make them disappear again. It’s part of my magic show.

Kiltak, heh. Spoken for. :winks: But, yes, I am actually a girl who is taking the GCIH exam, and I will pass it because I live for IH. (Where’s my shirt that says that?) Did you get the April Fool’s Day shirt from thinkgeek? :smiles:

  10. Do us all a favor and vlog or read the whole thing, and publish it as a podcast. That way we all subscribe to it and learn with you!

And what better way to learn than to teach.

And we can all learn what copyright law is.

  11. Wah, :laughs: I had my eyebrow raised at you until the end, and then I laughed. You funny. I’m not even supposed to let people LOOK at the books, much less open their covers.
