  1. But maybe it is untrue? There are no confirmations… Come on! He has to be ok. He is having a career resurgence with his, “She’s Like the Wind” being used as the background to some song that mes filles are listening too…

  2. Cancer does not care about careers. It can be true.

I would rather it were not, and will gladly retract if it is not.

  3. Wait, The Enquirer? Really? I mean, I know they’re not like, Weekly World News, but they aren’t exactly known for their journalistic integrity. Let us hope for the best for Mr. Dirty Dancing.

  4. I read this somewhere else also (referencing the Enquirer)…I hope it’s not true, but they’ve actually been getting a lot right lately it seems.

    sucka.

  5. Aaron, you knooooow I hope it’s not true. But I have a feeling about this one.

Pat, omg that is SO SWEET. And, heh, creepy. She takes her role too seriously.

Tug, did you just call me a sucka?!?!? :winks:

  6. Oh, what a fantastic day for the media. Not only do they have another celebrity death to work with, they even have a time table. They can schedule the specials ahead of time ! They can even do a countdown event. Truely golden times for tabloid hyenas.

  7. I was hoping it was untrue, being that it came from the Enquirer.

That said, I don’t know that it’s any more valid coming from CNN but if it *is* true, I, like Poppy, and probably hundreds of others am disappointed by the news.

Swayze was a childhood crush that began with Red Dawn and was re-ignited with Ghost. And, although the crushy feelings faded as I got older, I will always remember him fondly.

  8. Even if it were true (and there likely is some truth to it), they certainly can’t say “he has five weeks left” or whatever. Liability reasons AND the fact that they want to keep you positive (and guessing), so they don’t tell you anything.

I have a friend with leukemia and she is livid at the lack of information they actually do give you. Bleugh.

  9. Everyone, optimism. I figured some element of that story had to be untrue, and guessed it would be the 5 weeks, and knew if I put it out into the world as the Enquirer wrote it the world would refute it and Patrick Swayze would live forever. So far my evil plan has worked. Yay!
