  1. Sooooo jealous. HDNet had live coverage of the launch yesterday, but I didn’t record it b/c the TiVo didn’t have enough capacity.

  2. Creature, I hear ya. While I was watching I was optimistic (since I hadn’t heard any bad news and Jen didn’t write anything sad) but a little scared of how the shuttle was whirling.

B, LOTS of YouTube footage! And you at least have a TiVo. :grins: (I know, I’m a smartass.)

  3. Kyra, I agree.

Avi, it’s what came to mind when I was watching the video. It’s been 22 years now, right? So, probably not bad but slightly timelessly tasteless.

  4. Well, then what are you waiting for? A diamond-encrusted invitation?

Uhhhhhhhhhh, Joefish set it up for me. :grins: I’ll give you the code in email.

  5. Hehe, an unfortunate vector. That is how the launches always look from here- it is because the shuttle has to travel a good way downrange to achieve orbit. It just looks like it goes up and then comes down, but it really goes up and then goes out over the ocean.

    Thank for the plug, Poppy!

  6. Poppy! I come bearing gifts!
Actually – awards! I am giving you many awards.
    You are so special. :)

  7. Maman, yah. It’s hard not to think of it. I have a documentary about Christa McAuliffe that’s really, really good if you want to torture yourself with the details.

Jen, thanks for posting it! I :pinkpuffyheart: your shuttle close-up photo. Mesmerizing…

Sybil, toooootally. And, um, see my question about the awards. All three of the bottom ones?

  8. There’s just something about a long, hard object piercing the veil between earth and heaven… that brings a smile to my face.
