I’m not sleeping right still after my vacation. I keep trying to go to bed at reasonable times and get up at reasonable times but that’s just not working out. Friday night I spent all night watching a movie over and over, finally feeling sleepy at 4:30am. Last night I went to bed at 1:00am but couldn’t fall asleep for a very long time, and I have no idea how long because I refused to look at the clock. The good news is that it makes me very productive during the hours that I am awake! I got all of my weekend housework done yesterday instead of waiting until the last moment and doing it today. The bad news is that being 3-4 hours late to work every day might perhaps get me a stern talking to. And when I am sternly talked to by people at work I have a tendency to glare at them and imagine squishing their heads with my bare hands. So, hmm, perhaps I should take something to help me sleep tonight.
In the meantime: ZOOKEEPER, anyone? I’m gonna go pour myself some coffee and zone out for 7 hours.
And just for fun, I’ll tell you what movies I’ve seen this weekend:
The Wedding Singer
Stranger than Fiction
Lost in Translation – 4 times (3 times on Friday, 1 time on Saturday)
300
From Dusk Till Dawn
Kill Bill: Volume 1
Kill Bill: Volume 2
Addended:
Contact
Fargo
Clerks
Shaun of the Dead
I love both Stranger than Fiction and The Wedding Singer
Me too. :smiles: And the more times I watch Lost in Translation the more I love everything about it. If you wear earphones you can pretend that you hear what Bob whispers into Charlotte’s ear at the very end.
I’m with you. I don’t look at the clock anymore now that I am unemployed, I mean, a consultant, and I stay up later. That way, when I wake up at 5:30 a.m., like usual, I think I have gotten a full night’s sleep.
Dave could take a lesson from this, since he doesn’t sleep. Ever. Neither does Avi, it would seem. Of course, you can tell that by the way he looks. Dave looks hot no matter what. Even in a dress.
I catch up on sleep on the weekends. I don’t care what anyone says. You CAN catch up on sleep.
Idiots.
So, what you’re saying is you crush on Dave. :grins:
I’d do him.
:laughs: :laughs:
Just to clarify, you mean Dave2? :grins:
Yup. He’s hot, even when he looks like shit.
Just checking. You could have completely confused the other Daves of the world into thinking you wanted their bods.
(Not like that’s a bad thing…)
It’s all a matter of numbers, my friend. Numbers.
Numbers are the key to the universe!
Now I really wanna watch Contact.
I am now watching Contact. Ahhh, Jodie Foster pretending to like boys…
42.
No offense to Douglas, but 42 is not prime.
I highly suggest Nyquil for the sleep issue.
As for numbers… I am very partial to 37.
Especially if it is in a row.
I prefer a single beer for sleep issues. That or other forms of physical activity. I cant stand for a TV to be on while I’m trying to go to sleep. Inevitably I will get interested in whats on.
Dawg, I may be very sorry I asked, but… 37 what in a row? And Friday night I took Nytol which is kinda like Nyquil? Ok, ok, if I’m desperate I’ll break the seal on the unopened Nyquil I bought for my next cold, but I don’t want to have to rely on that to zonk me out.
Geek, … naughty. And I was just watching the movie because I wasn’t even a little tiny bit tired, but I make sure to only watch movies I’ve seen a million times so that I am more likely to fall asleep. And, really, all I need to do is read a book for 20 minutes and I’ll fall asleep so I don’t know why I didn’t just do that.
Read Windows XP white papers. That will do the job.
*Le sigh*. All these movies and you still haven’t watched Clerks yet?????
Take the Nyquil. Your sleep center will love you for it.
Geek, no effing way. Those piss me off.
Dawg, are you French sighing at me?! Awesome. Fargo is almost over. And Clerks must be buried behind the first row of movies but I will dig it out and watch it. :grins: And then take Nyquil. And still be awake until 4:30am.
Dawg, nevermind about the 37 thing. I had conveniently forgotten that part of Clerks.
:laughs: In a row??? Poppy!!!
:laughs: :laughs: :laughs: :laughs: :laughs:
BENADRYL. 2 of those and no way will you stay awake!
But yes – watch Clerks!
From Dusk Til Dawn is mostly good just for looking at George Clooney.
The rest are excellent.
Dawg, :grins: maybe on one person, but not 37 different people. :grins:
Sybil, if I had Benadryl I’d take it because I just remembered that the stuff knocks me right out. And Salma is BEAUTIFUL in From Dusk Till Dawn.
“The Wedding Singer” and “From Dusk Till Dawn” rock. Gotta love Billy Idol using the beverage cart as a barricade abd FDTD may be one of George Clooney’s finest roles.
When I fly to Vegas I hope I get offered the window seat, because I’ve never been. And if not I hope Billy Idol is there to handle it. :grins:
(Maybe I should have said IF instead of WHEN, since I have no plans to go.)
