Resistance is hopefully not futile.

I am supposed to be filling out long, drawn out, tediously boring paperwork today. I’ve promised myself a movie (probably Dan in Real Life) as a treat for finishing it but I’m having a really hard time not treating myself first before doing the icky thing.

A little motivation? Anyone? :grins:

Update: Perhaps 3/4 of the way through the paperwork and the start time of the movie has come and gone. Looks like it’s a night in with DVDs, pizza, and more paperwork. yee.

  1. You can keep your hot chocolate, but dammit I’m trying to be good and wait on seeing the movie. You are a bad influence. :pfft:

(Wanna do my paperwork for me? I’ll take your business calls.)

  2. I’m waiting for someone to make it and bring it to me as we speak. And I just finished the last of the cookies from Mrs. Fab.

  3. Ooops. :grins:

    Ahem.

Amy is not your bitch. :grins:

Might I suggest you have her sit on your lap and give you a hug for 5 minutes? That should motivate you.

  4. Ok. Lemme get this straight. Your wife, whom you love, and who is getting you hot chocolate, is less important than blogs and Lillix?

    I’m thinking I’m misunderstanding you.

  5. Today (Sunday) is my day to get some yardwork and housework done. I might end up at a friend’s in the afternoon but probably I’ll just stick around here and work on stuff since I won’t be here most of Monday to do any of it.

  6. Hey Avitable…will Amy bring me hot chocolate? Well it was worth trying.

Poppy, I wish I could offer some motivation but I’ve pissed my day away on Christmas cards and useless internet stuff.

What I should have been doing was working intensely on my graduate class.

    I’m a slacker.

Holy crap balls…it’s 7 PM. I have to start my homework now.

    Motivate ME!

  7. Mish, I think you should hang out with your friend instead of doing yardwork. :smiles:

Lisa, I am a seriously bad influence. I would tell you to keep going with those cards (since I know how important they actually are, first ones in five years!) and to hell with homework. (And I used to be such a good student when I was one. I’ve since fallen out of favor with that whole school malarkey.)

  8. I am so with you. There are some things I really hate about work. Discipline in doing the things I really hate is my biggest issue. It’s the cause of so many issues in my life, like my weight, etc.

There are a few things at work that I have not done, that I am loathing, and I am like a child throwing a temper tantrum in my head like a two-year-old.

Sorry I don’t have any suggestions… Just wanted to offer up some empathy.

  9. Abs, I’m still not any closer to finishing it, but that’s cuz I had brunch plans with my fantastic cousins who always make me feel better about myself, even when I didn’t realize I needed to feel any better about myself. They’re like magic elves. And now I am motivated to finish those papers!

Fab, I don’t need to practice being funny. I’m naturally fucking hilarious. (Let’s hope I mean that.) And I might go see the movie later today, maybe.

  10. I want to see that movie… badly. If you see it, don’t post any spoilers.

Oh… and just as a reminder… you may be on Fab’s radio show next week… but I had you first.

I know that doesn’t sound totally kosher… but it’s not meant to sound kosher. Fab is a goyum.

  11. Dawgator, you follow instructions well. And neither of you had me first. :pfft: Fab may be a goyum but you’re an instigator through and through. (I need a popcorn smiley…)
