That weekend was B-A-N-A…oh, you know how Gwen finishes it off.

This weekend was spent with Britt, Jared, Robin, Rachel, Dawg

…oh, and ALL the other Hot Bloggers who could make the trip into NYC.

Trust me, you're going to want to buy the calendar when it comes out.

If I wrote a post about this weekend it would take me a week to finish it. So, how about you look at photos instead?

Friday special care package from Morgetron arrived then dinner chez PoppyDawg with Britt and Jared.

Saturday tourist extravaganza and the Hot Blogger Calendar dinner.

Sunday Hot Blogger Calendar photo shoot at Some Studio (scroll down a little) in Manhattan. Who knew I would love Jane's parents so much? I'm so weird.

After Sunday's shoot Dawg and I went to M&M World and Hershey then had steaks with his parents then we went home and I asked him to tell me stories about his life before I knew him so he did.

And because there are so many links in this post I just target="_blank" 'd all the links. You are welcome. :pfft:

What do I have to do to be called a Bad Girl, dammit?!?!?

You Are a Normal Girl

You are 40% Good and 60% Bad
Sure you've pulled some bad girl stunts in your past.
But these days, you're (mostly) a good girl.

Are You a Good Girl or a Bad Girl?

Boooooooo. *pout*

(Thanks, Sour.)

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaappy anni-ver-sary!

Today is the 10th anniversary of two of my favoritest people in the world — Break Boy and His Lovely Wife! Thank you so much for letting me be the enabler for you two getting together in the first place, for letting me be part of your special day 10 years ago, for letting me pretend that your kids are MINE when I'm around (until, of course, I can't handle it and then you gracefully yank them off me), and here's to (math math math) lots of years more!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love you both lots.

The past, the future, and a yummy cake

Facts about yesterday:
Bearette and E E is even more handsome in person.
Bearette is even more gorgeous and youthful in person.
I got to meet the mysterious D! Woohoo!
I am quirky and weird in person.
I like to walk around and talk about people I've never met.
Here are pictures!
Facts about today:
Dawg made a cake for it (go see!).
I am getting up early to shop for it.
I am spending a lot of time cooking for it.
We will have special guests in our home.
We would have had more guests in our home but realized we don't have a lot of room.
We will invite the other guests over another time. (We will!)
It's cold.
I'm itchy.
Adventures will be had.

Wheeeeee! *scratch scratch*

When worlds collide

So, my mom reads my blog. (Hi, Mom!) She found the link on Cereal Wednesday a while back. She let me know she stumbled upon it there, then a few weeks ago I specifically kinda-sorta-asked her if she reads and she admitted that she does, although she reads as a blogger who enjoys my writing rather than as my mom who raised me and could potentially be judging me for the life I choose to live. I don't change how I write for her, I just consider her part of the audience.

Two days ago I received an email from her asking if Dawg and I could come to Tennessee for Thanksgiving. She specifically wrote that my stepdad said, "I have an idea for Thanksgiving. Why don't we invite Poppy and Dawg [SIC] to come." I politely declined because Dawg and I already have plans, but I asked if we could instead come see them in "Novemberish" (which means we keep the plans loose until we know a firmer schedule for when we can visit). My mom emailed me back saying how excited she and my stepdad were that we would be coming down. We are excited as well, despite the lack of finality of plans at this point. I can't wait to try out the guest quarters! (Last time I slept in my stepdad's office on a single bed.)

I am still disturbed but amused that my stepdad is now calling us Poppy and Dawg as well.

I am not sure what I expected, it's what we call ourselves pretty much everywhere online and, truth be told, it's what we call each other behind closed doors too. It's very rare for Dawg to call me by my given first name. It's completely unheard of for me to call him by his first name unless I'm talking about him to someone.

And sometimes when Dawg calls me Poppy it suddenly makes me introspectively wonder… is all of this real? Or am I dreaming this? (If I'm dreaming it please let me keep sleeping, moreplease and thank you.)

We are the Bub and Cookie of our generation. (That makes sense to me and my mom, and that's enough making sense for me.)

thoughts for a Monday afternoon (it's afternoon already?! fuck.)

The other day I was trying to explain to Pudding* why I blog. She kept asking me if it was so I could complain and people could subscribe to my complaints. Being the introspective person that I am, I couldn't just say, "no, of course not!" then explain in clear and concise words why I blog… cuz I don't actually know why I do. It's always changing, my reasons for why I write any given post are always different.

The point of writing this post is to say: It smells like bacon here. That is not a complaint.

*Pudding is Dawg's ex, mother of The Wolves. I know, it's hard to keep up. It gets easier if you live it. :winks:
