I own an HP 2133 MiniNote. It’s running Windows XP Professional and even for this Mac guy, it’s nice to have as a couch surfing device for those times when TV and movies get slow and boring. Or for when I need to Wiki someone or something.

I’ve had it almost a year now and I like it, except for the dismal battery life (under 2 hours) and the processor being slow (it’s VIA-7, not the cool Intel Atom N270)

I have an Acer Aspire One that gets six or so hours of life from a charge. I hate to bitch and moan about having to lug a notebook through an airport – BUT – the netbook is a lot easier on me than my Latitude. And it fits in my single-strap backpack … and sits on the floor by my feet when I fly without causing me any legroom discomfort.

I’ve not used the web cam yet.

The only downside so far is that it has a short screen so scrolling is required. Once you get used to the smaller real estate it’s awesomeness. The battery life on this is 6 hours, I think.v… Yup, 6 hours!

I’m thinking of getting one for school, because my laptop is so damn big. And has a 2 hour battery life.

We’re currently shopping for a little netbook for Caitlin (15yr old)… she likes the Dells (lollipop, lollipop) and I really don’t have an IT-Director-Father-bias preference to share with her, so I appreciate you pointing me to this one. We’ll keep testing them out.

Oooo! That would be perfect for hubs who just checks email and writes Word documents. Our Vaio is dying a slow miserable death and I have a no touchy policy with my MacBook! Yay for new geeky toys!

Finn, I assure you that this Netbook is just like a laptop, only it’s not going to work great for a gamer or someone who needs a ton of power. It can handle iTunes, Word, and phone syncs, and has an awesome battery life, lots of hard drive space, a great screen, and it’s so fucking adorable I can’t fucking stand it. It’s like having a designer pet, except I’m not being cruel.

Here’s my question: can it run iTunes? Because I want to replace Mister’s cranky old laptop, but he really doesn’t need another laptop. He just goes on the Internet and syncs his phone. The only other thing I’d want is the ability to run Word so I could take it with me and write while Lil’ M is in therapy.
