The two talking cats

Add comments

Video description: Stina and Mossy (the two cats seen in this video) usually fight instead of talk, so this was an odd moment. They kept “talking” for about 1 hour, constantly.

I wish my girls would do this. They generally fight too. Sometimes they’ll sit close to each other, or sniff each other then attack each other.

    That’s rather amusing.

It also reminds me of the recent time when I had a little talk of my own with a cat.

You see, new neighbours moved in down the road, and their white-orange whatevercat took to traversing the backyard of the house I live in. Considering the presence of a pond with fishiness in it, that’s problematic.

So I essentially snuck up on the cat (which consider a personal achievement). It was actually still a bit away when it (I don’t know the gender, okay ? “It” it is.) turned around and meowed at me. I crouched down meowed back. It changed pitch. I changed pitch.

This went on for a while until said cat decided to leave the backyard, for which it had to walk past me. Carefully. And started to run when I turned around after it.

I’m not sure when it dawned on me that I had just communicated “Get the hell out of my territory” in cat, but I guess I did.

    Haha
Creature’s comment made me laugh. That’s how i found my kitten, and communicate with my cats all the time!
    Am I a freak?!
Anyway, our cats are pretty mouthy, too. To everyone, including each other.
    Anyone want a tiny kitten?!
    (I’ll email you pics today!)

Awww, that is very cute. My cats used to do that… and the Clyde would get sick of it and then sexually abuse Barney… so sad.

That was cool. Our sole male cat likes to talk alot… especially in short chirps… it’s pretty cool.

That was adorable! I want ours to do that. This house currently has 3 cats: my year old kitty, and then two other cats aged 11 and 15. Ours looooves to go upstairs and visit my mother and her cats; the 15 year old one is a crotchety old man who has no problem at all scrapping with the youngster when mine decides to play with him, and the 11 year old just hisses at him and generally freaks the shit out of him.

And all 3 cats will run if the ferret starts chasing them.

  6. Miss Ann Thrope Says:

    That’s so totally adorable.

Aside from Rosey, who hates everybody, the other 5 like each other except for when Poot gets feisty and messes with Bella and/or Daisy cuz he can thereby pissing them off. None of them have knock down-drag out fights though. Rosey just biffs everyone on the head.

If I had a video camera, I’d send you shots of Boo. She NEVER shuts the fuck up. She talks constantly. I was planting bulbs the other day when she escaped…not much of an escape because she spent the entire time talking to me to the point where Geekman was inside the house and yelled at her to quiet down. (But it was enough of an escape for her to get a freakin’ tick!! Ack!) She doesn’t much talk to the cats except for Pooter…they have a thing since they’re the same age.

Poot doesn’t talk. Ozzy whines. He’s totally a whiner. Bella says hi when you talk to her. Daisy is quiet until snack time then she cries like crazy…cause she’s been jonesing all day for her fix. Rosey hisses a lot but she will say hi too. But Boo never shuts up. Thank God she doesn’t have a horrible meow. Ozzy’s is pretty grating, thankfully he doesn’t whine much.

Oh, hey, want a few cats? I have a surplus.

I wish Packet and Mister would talk it out like that.

Jenn is without a cat right now, and I’ve offered to let Mister live with her. I dunno if he’d like the dogs, but we can at least give it a try, right? It’s not “getting rid of” a cat if I give him to my best friend and visit all the time. Right?

    PS: Packet LOVES this idea.

Creature, so, the whole time you were just telling the kitty to go away? :frown:

Sybil, thanks for the photos! She is ADORABLE!!!!!

    Maman, that’s very odd.

Marty, our girl Georgie does chirps. I love it.

Crystal, that’s hilarious about the ferret fear!!!

Miss Ann, we already had to go through a lot of grief to get a place that let us have 3 cats and were told “NO MORE” so for now we can’t have more.

K, Poppy does not LOVE this idea. :frown:

  9. Creature SH Says:

Hey, don’t get me wrong – I’ve got nothing against the cat as such, but I had fish to protect… And it appeared that the feline in question had -withing the few days since arrivel – already taking a liking to using this backyard as a big toilet. You understand that such is problematic.

  10. Poppy Cede Says:

Ok. Just no kicking the kitty.

  11. Creature SH Says:

    I’d sooner kick myself.

  12. Kris Says:

Have you seen this? It’s hilarious! Click here

Act real cute and he’ll give us treats! *snicker*

  13. Poppy Cede Says:

    Creature, very good to hear.

    Kris, *giggle*
