Poppy is freaked out by the term alimony and refuses to accept it.

We split money 50/50. We made roughly the same amount while married so I am not partaking of any of his money. In fact, right now I am paying him to help make sure the mortgage continues to be paid.

I would rather be homeless than forcibly dependent upon a man’s bank account. That’s just how I feel. Not to say I refuse to have things paid for me, but I won’t accept weekly/monthly checks for myself from a man.
