So, what’s new with you? New with me? I’ve mastered the easy level of Guitar Hero III in only two times playing it, after never having played Guitar Hero before in my life and not knowing how to play instruments of any sort. I’ve also now tasted $68 tequila (straight up), $32 vodka (with OJ and grenadine, so not the really good stuff), and ($$$$$) scotch. And in reciprocation for letting me sleep in their spare bedroom after getting drunk-ish off their alcohol and making copious amounts of swearnoise while playing GH3 until 2am*, today I made Break Boy’s family a peanut butter pie/dixie delight from the recipe I used for the snow storm pie. I also came home to really angry kittos who threw their water bowl and ate their entire cache of food that normally takes them days to eat in defiance of my not being here when they woke up this morning to give them their morning treat. I also have new artwork from Break Boy’s son EZA who wrote “HAVE FUN PLAYING YOUR GUITAR!!” on a picture of a guitar in flames that he colored on just for me:
I have been told by BB’s Lovely Wife that I’m welcome back any time. Dangerous words to an addict…
*We had been playing at the data center, but at around 8pm the party was already dying down so we moved it to Break Boy’s house so we could play for a million and four more hours. He and I played career and battle until 2am then played again today until 3pm. I see notes when I close my eyes and Slow Ride will not leave my head even though I think I only played that once. I got a perfect score on something while drunk, but I can’t even remember what, and I made it through every single song with 93% or higher on easy all of last night and today. I had a 208 note streak at some point today. Remember, only my third day playing, so I was pretty happy about that.

I do not approve of alcohol.
That’s all.

Sound like a hell of a good time.

I have some friends that are getting that for their kids this Christmas (II and III) with two guitars so maybe I’ll get a chance to play it…sounds like fun, even without the alcohol…haha.

I think the alcohol helps, it relaxes you. And you’re not doing that much worse than me, and I’ve played it way more times than you. You’re a natural

I am apparently on a rockstar schedule now. Up at 2am… (Ok, this can’t be a rockstar schedule because I just woke up after sleeping from 6am to now…)
Geek, I really cannot think of anything more fun than a set of my best friends and their kids inviting me over to play in their home while they live their regular life around me. It was a top 10 great time.
Mish, beg them to play if they don’t offer.
If you’re awful the first few times just keep trying. You will be very impressed with yourself once you let yourself zen out and just play the notes on the screen.
Amanda, I didn’t need that alcohol to relax. In total I probably had 2 drink’s worth of alcohol (kept making BB finish my drinks after I had one sip, hehe — strategy!!!). I was playing 90%+ already last night at the data center when we did battles. Something about battle helped me suddenly play a lot better, like I felt obligated to do a very good job. And then we did career and the same thing happened where I felt like I had to do a good job so I just did. (That’s kinda my MO… I know I have to succeed so I just do.)
