Brandon Flowers wants to beat emo bands such as Fall Out Boy to death. How does FOB respond?
An even better version of Mr. Brightside. Fucking genius. I hope they do a studio version, or a professional live version.

You think that’s a better version?

Avi, yes. Defend.

The original is much more melodious.

That’s your criterion? Melodious?
Patrick adds flair to it, plays his voice around Pete’s badass
guitar(shut it) bass playing, and you think Brandon Flowers’s version is more melodious. You are wrong, sir.

That song doesn’t need badass guitar playing. It’s all wrong for it.
I don’t like FOB anyway – they’re a bit too emo for my tastes.

So, now your reason for liking The Killers better is by default, because they’re not emo?
November 7th, 2007 at 10:02 am
No, I just don’t like FOB either.

I’m absolutely convinced you don’t like anything that I like. So, par for the course.

I like some of the same things you do. But usually, you just have weird taste!

And my personal conclusion is validated: I am very misunderstood. siiiigh

hehe I talked about this on my blog too. Normally I hate Fall Out Boy, and Pete especially, but I do like this version. Its more rock. I still prefer the Killers version though

Amanda, if I had remembered you did I would have given you credit. I tend to forget. I love FOB. Can’t help myself.

I like the original better.
I also find it hysterical that the crowd knows all the lyrics to The Killers song meanwhile they are at a FOB show.
That alone is very very telling.

I guess I’m the only one that hopes the Killers’ plane lands on Fall Out Boy’s bus.
November 7th, 2007 at 2:29 pm
Dawg, you mean you find it hysterical that some of us have broader music taste than you do?
ACW, you anti-emoist!
November 7th, 2007 at 2:33 pm
Actually I find it hysterical that they would sing a song that The Killers wrote as opposed to a FOB song… which just goes to show the popularity of FOB. Who did they open for at the concert? Van Halen?
Besides, sadly the EMO nation is just a bunch of woosy wanna-be goths who can’t stomach the real deal of living such a gloomy existence.
They’d be better listening to Yanni.

I have to agree with Avi on this one. No improvement over the song, which, IMHO is the weakest song the Killers have done.
Actually, it was nice to hear FOB sing a song which the listener could finally understand the lyrics. They should try to write one of their own like that.
